Jain America is Hiring a HR Generalist Near Chicopee, MA

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Ensures company is compliant with all federal, state and local human resource laws. Keep in compliance with Labor Law Posters and employment Laws*
2. Recruits, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant positions in conjunction with respective hiring managers. Develops and maintains an effective organization through the selection, compensation development, employee motivation, termination and review of employees.*
3. Acts as the liaison between the temp agency used to source laborer positions and track staffing hours, communicates with the temp agency and production manager related to schedules, absences, hiring and continued staffing assignments. Provides weekly hours worked to temp agency to facilitate individual temps payroll.*
4. Ensures OSHA compliance including reporting on the 300 logs and safety committee participation. Process all Workers compensation claims, communicate and work with the carrier related to all ongoing and new workers' comp claims.*
5. Manages orientation program new employees - including offer letters, requesting background screenings, initial benefit enrollment as well as any required new hire paperwork. *
6. Maintains personnel files to include updating information as needed including updating and maintaining online documents and performance reviews as well as any other employee incidents within the Flex portal. Quarterly I9 audits of documentation and records.*
7. Creates and maintains current job descriptions all employees and update as needed.*
8. Develops and creates annual performance reviews in conjunction with the management team and be present and document the delivery to individual employees.*
9. Runs employee benefit programs working with both the insurance broker and the management team related to open enrollment and ongoing service and employee concerns.*
10. Handles unemployment claims. Handles state disability claims and distribution of required forms and reporting as needed for those benefits.*
11. Assists management in appropriate resolution of employee relation issues and if needed assists managers with disciplining and termination including documentation and retention of documentation.*
12. Runs the company training program including assignment and tracking completion of all non harassment and safety training as well as any other training as required by the company.*

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Paychex Flex.

Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A. / A. S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Approachable and able to communicate with all levels of staff.
